The ship and
boat building industry in Anatolia, has a history of over 600 years as
the first shipyard was founded in 1390. Traditional ship buildings
skills, once only relayed from generation to generation, now combined
with modern techniques and education, has enabled the Turkish boat and
yacht building industry . to develop into an internationally known
source starting in the early 1990’s.
Federation of Yacht and Boat Industries (YATEF) was founded in 2004 to
associate further the yacht and boat industry in Turkey and promote the
activities of the members of its charter associations both regionally
and internationally. YATEF fullfills its mission through the following
aims:
• To assist develop the marine industry in
Turkey ,
• To gather the yacht, rectional boat, sailboat , mega yacht, marine
engine and components producers and other relevant companies in a union;
• To set forth the standards for the companies who produce recreational
boats, yachts, sailboats and spare parts; and assist them achieve these
standards,
• To promote and protect the common interests of the marine sector
• To encourage technological improvements for the boating industry
• To define and outline the problems of the boating ındustry and marine
sector
• To create the necessary PR in order to demonsrate the high level of
quality that originates from Turkish manufacturers and service providers
to the international community,
• To promote amateur seamanship, to develop the love of sea among the
people of our country and to spread this love to the whole of the
country, especially to the younger generations,
• To be the voice of the boating industry and marine sector.
The Federation carries out numerous activities
to support the industry and promote its development. To defend the
interests of the boating industry, YATEF extends its activities widely,
from political lobbying of the Turkish Goverment or the Turkish
authorities, to organizing campaigns to persude people to use their
leisure time on the sea. YATEF is working very hard for becoming “the
well known voice of the Turkish marine industry” in order to achieve its
pimary objective of promoting the boating Industry.

During the recent years Turkey has shown great
progress in building and equipping boats,yachts and mega yachts. Today
Turkey is an ideal production site for boating and mega yacht building.

past years.
Turkey seems to be standing forward for its service approach and price
advantages when compared to the other countries in the boating sector.
This conclusion can easily be derived from the fact that the majority of
large yacht and mega yacht customers are from countries which have been
the world leaders for decades.
Turkish Boating Industry’s mission is to build and provide advanced
marine products and service, which are superior in quality, equipped
with the best avaliable technology and fully comply with todays
environmental standarts.

Boating Industry for their quality. Turkey’s primary objective for the
following years is to be a trademark in the world.
The Turkish boating industry always follows the technological
developments closely and practices these new technologies in their
shipyards, in addition to developing new technologies themselves. The
Turkish boating industry is ready to serve in modern,technologically
developed and quality certified shipyards,together with our well
experienced and specialist work force. Yachts and boats built in Turkey
